Donor Egg Bank USA began shipping egg lots between fertility programs in 2012. Following our merger with California Cryobank in 2016, the network has grown to over 150 fertility practices, and clients have the convenience of using frozen donor eggs both nationally and internationally.

The above chart encompasses embryo transfers that were completed in all programs. Unique to other egg banks, Donor Egg Bank USA requires network programs to report 100% of cycles. Success rates vary by fertility practice, and the above statistics incorporate all results regardless of individual fertility practice performance.

We only ship eggs that are mature and capable of producing a baby. Our egg lots range in size from 5 to 8, with the average size being 6 and 7 eggs. Because no woman produces mature eggs in perfect groups of 6 or 8, we do not want embryologists to be inclined to freeze immature eggs in order to have egg lots all of one size. The number of eggs available for selection on each donor can be viewed in the donor database. While one egg lot is a good chance at having a baby, egg lots greater than 5 have an increased likelihood of embryos remaining for an additional try. Sometimes we will consolidate two egg lots together and in these cases, the egg lot should perform similar to an egg lot of 6 eggs.

Our Egg Lot Guarantee

As the nation's premier egg bank, we offer a blastocyst guarantee.

Human biology can be unpredictable and we offer this guarantee because we are confident in the quality of the donor eggs we provide.

We know that egg survival is not the best indicator of egg quality and therefore we take the additional step of guaranteeing a usable quality blastocyst. We guarantee at least one or more blastocyst will be available for transfer, freezing, or biopsy. At this time, we do not guarantee euploid embryos. If a blastocyst is not available and a transfer occurs, our obligation has been fulfilled and we will not provide a replacement. To have the guarantee in place, a total motile count of 1 million sperm will be available the day of egg thaw.

In 68% of egg thaws, sufficient embryos have been available for both a transfer and additional embryos frozen. In the unlikely event, that a blastocyst is not available, then we will provide a new egg lot in accordance with your chosen financial plan. For clients in our Assured Refund Plan, the cycle will not count as one of the 6 attempts.
